Frequently Asked Questions

Appointments and Working With Me

What can I expect in my first appointment?

Your first appointment is all about understanding you. We’ll spend time exploring your health history, lifestyle, diet, goals, and any medical conditions or test results you have. I take a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to create a tailored plan that suits your unique needs. While we won’t dive into full education or a meal plan straight away, you’ll leave the session feeling heard, supported, and with a clear path forward.

Do you see other types of clients, or just fertility, pregnancy and menopause?

While my main focus is supporting women through fertility, pregnancy, and menopause, I do work with other clients, especially those with diagnosed health conditions or those looking for general nutrition support. If you’re not sure whether I’m the right fit, feel free to get in touch for a quick chat.

How long are appointments?

Depending on the appointment type, initial appointments are 60-90 minutes, allowing plenty of time to get to know you and your needs in order to develop a nutrition plan. Review sessions are typically 30-45 minutes and allow for education and support through your nutrition plan.

Do you offer face-to face consultations?

As much as I’d love to see you off-screen, CHEW Nutrition is a fully digital practice. My clients love the flexibility of online appointments – no travel, no parking hassles, and easy to fit around busy schedules, especially when juggling multiple healthcare appointments.

I’m committed to supporting you on your health journey and telehealth allows me to support clients from all across Australia (and the world). All you need is an internet connection and a laptop, computer or phone – it’s that simple!

Do I need a referral to see you?

No referral is needed. You’re welcome to book directly, whether you’re self-referring or have been encouraged to seek support by your doctor or specialist.

Bookings & Logistics

How do I book an appointment?

Booking an appointment is simple! Head to the Consults page and choose the reason for your visit. Select your appointment type, then pick your preferred day and time. Payment in full is required at the time of booking to secure your spot.

Once you’ve booked, check your email for your confirmation and more details about your upcoming appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

I understand that life can be unpredictable. Here’s how cancellations and changes work:

  • More than 48 hours’ notice: Full refund

  • Within 48 hours: A $50 admin fee will apply

  • No-shows: Unfortunately, no refund will be issued, as this time has been set aside exclusively for you (If something unexpected happens, please let me know as soon as possible — I genuinely understand that life can throw curveballs, but no-shows without notice mean that I can’t offer the spot to someone else in need.)

  • Need to reschedule? You’re entitled to one free reschedule – additional changes may incur the $50 fee

How can I reschedule my appointment?

If you need to reschedule, simply let me know as soon as possible, and we’ll find a new time that works.

Where are you located?

I’m based in Brisbane, Australia, but my clinic is 100% online. That means you can access my services from anywhere — whether you’re across town, interstate, or overseas. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a quiet space for your consultation.

Costs and Rebates

How much do appointments cost?

Costs vary by appointment type. I also offer packages for review sessions if you’d like more ongoing support and would like to save some money. You’ll find all pricing details clearly outlined when you go to book.

Do you offer Medicare rebates?

Yes, Medicare rebates are available for those eligible and presenting with a Chronic Disease Management Plan or Team Care Arrangement Plan from your GP (general practitioner). Please speak with your GP to see if you qualify. You’ll pay the full session fee upfront, and I can process the rebate for you afterward.

Do you offer private health insurance rebates?

Yes, for Australian clients. If you have private health insurance with extras cover that includes dietetics, you may be able to claim a rebate. The amount will depend on your insurer and your level of cover. I’ll provide you with an invoice following our session so you can make your claim directly with your fund.

How do I pay for my appointment?

Payment is made in full at the time of booking to secure your appointment. You’ll be guided through the payment process when you book online — it’s quick and easy! If you have any issues with payment, feel free to get in touch.

Do you offer packages or ongoing support?

Yes! Many of my clients find value in ongoing support, so I offer packages that include multiple sessions and tailored resources. These can be especially helpful during fertility journeys, pregnancy, or perimenopause transitions. More information on packages is provided following the first session.

Programs & Services

What services do you offer?

I offer personalised 1:1 nutrition consultations to support women through fertility, pregnancy, and menopause. Whether you’re trying to conceive, growing a healthy baby, or managing the changes of perimenopause, I provide tailored, evidence-based advice that fits your lifestyle. I also offer packages for ongoing support, as well as digital resources and programs designed to help you feel more confident and in control of your health.

Do you offer support beyond individual appointments?

Yes. I understand that health changes can feel overwhelming, especially when hormones are involved! That’s why I offer structured programs and packages with additional support—like follow-up sessions, meal plans, supplement guidance, and practical tools. I also have digital resources you can use in your own time, and I’m currently developing a membership and online courses for women who want trusted advice in a flexible format.

Will I receive a meal plan or supplement recommendations?

If appropriate, yes. During your first appointment, we’ll gather all the information needed to understand your health, lifestyle, and goals. From there, I can develop a personalised meal plan and/or supplement strategy that aligns with your needs. These are typically provided in your review sessions, once we’ve had a chance to tailor them properly.

Do you offer fertility programs for couples?

Yes, I work with both individuals and couples who are trying to conceive. While I’m happy to offer a discount for initial sessions when you both come on board, it’s important that each person has their own initial consultation. This allows me to understand your unique health history, dietary needs, and goals—because your nutrition focus, supplement plan, and even meal suggestions are likely to be different. After that, we can explore shared strategies where appropriate and support you as a team.

Are your services suitable if I’m already working with other health professionals?

Yes. I regularly work alongside GPs, fertility specialists, psychologists, and other allied health providers. My goal is to complement your care team with practical, nutrition-focused strategies that support your overall health and wellbeing.

What Can I Help With

What kinds of conditions do I support?

I specialise in helping women through fertility, pregnancy, and menopause. This includes support for PCOS, endometriosis, thyroid conditions, irregular cycles, weight concerns, insulin resistance, gestational diabetes, and hormone-related symptoms like fatigue, bloating, mood changes, and hot flushes. I also help women optimise their diet for conception, pregnancy, and healthy ageing.

Can you diagnose medical conditions?

No. As an Accredited Practising Dietitian, I don’t diagnose conditions, but I do work with diagnosed conditions using evidence-based nutrition strategies. I can also help you interpret blood tests and collaborate with your doctor or specialist as part of your healthcare team.

Do you provide exercise plans?

I can offer general advice based on national guidelines, and I may recommend certain types of movement that complement your nutrition goals, especially during perimenopause. But I don’t provide personalised fitness programs. If you need specific exercise guidance, I’ll happily refer you to an appropriate professional.

Can you help with emotional eating or body image?

Yes, these are common concerns, especially during hormonal transitions. While I’m not a psychologist, I use a non-diet, weight-inclusive, and mindful eating approach where appropriate, and can help you develop a healthier relationship with food. If deeper psychological support is needed, I can work alongside your mental health provider.

Can you work with my other healthcare providers?

Absolutely. I regularly collaborate with GPs, fertility specialists, obstetricians, psychologists, and other allied health professionals. I believe in a team-based approach to care and will always keep your wider health picture in mind.
