Hello and welcome!

My name is Kirstin and I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Accredited Nutritionist, leading CHEW Nutrition and Dietetics in Brisbane, Australia, as its Owner and Consulting Dietitian. My academic journey at Queensland University of Technology culminated in a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (First Class Honours), complemented by my membership with Dietitians Australia.

Transitioning into dietetics after a period dedicated to family life, I was driven by the desire to simplify healthy eating for those juggling busy schedules. My scientific curiosity, beginning with a Bachelor of Science, reinforces my commitment to evidence-based practice, ensuring reliable and actionable nutrition guidance.

In my practice, I have supported individuals through diverse nutritional challenges – from fostering healthy eating habits to managing diabetes, addressing food intolerances, navigating gastrointestinal disorders, and mitigating cardiovascular disease risk. My approach is grounded in partnership: together with my clients, we define achievable health objectives, tailor dietary strategies, and leverage educational tools for lasting lifestyle transformations. Here, you’ll find no complicated meal plans, fleeting diet trends, or elusive advice!

Empowering Through Nutrition

The complexity of food and nutrition in our lives is undeniable. In an era flooded with information, discerning beneficial guidance from harmful misinformation is more challenging than ever. As a dietitian, I aim to be a beacon of clarity and support in this cluttered landscape. My expertise is particularly deep in two areas:

Gut Health: My fascination with gut health’s impact on our overall well-being has led me to specialise in managing Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Trained in the use of the low FODMAP diet through Monash University, I empower clients to navigate the FODMAP diet effectively, offering relief from IBS symptoms and a renewed sense of control over their well-being.

Sustainable Healthy Eating: Beyond aesthetic goals, my mission is to cultivate a joyous and health-focused relationship with food. Understanding that knowledge alone doesn’t equate to change, I guide my clients to integrate nutritious habits into their bustling lives, emphasising the enjoyment of food and overall health over fleeting body ideals. When I work with clients, I help them find a realistic approach to nutrition that will create healthy habits now and into the future.

Expanding Horizons – Nutrition for Fertility: Recognising the intricate connection between nutrition and fertility, I am excited to announce that I will soon be extending my practice to include fertility nutrition counselling. This new venture aims to support individuals and couples in optimising their nutritional well-being as they embark on their fertility journey.

By joining forces, we can chart a path towards not just meeting, but exceeding your health and nutritional goals, whether you’re seeking relief from chronic conditions, aiming to enhance your gut health, or preparing for the journey of parenthood.
